My Handmade 2 Story Brooder

I built myself a new brooder this summer! It has 2 stories, LED lighting that dims, and Brinsea EcoGlow Brooder heaters. And I made it look like a bookcase so it looks nice in my office. LOL.......The cat LOVES it!

It is working really well. I still love it and use it year round. The only thing I would do differently would be to maybe put some sort of plastic barrier at the bottom half of the doors to keep the shavings from falling out . And the cat still really enjoys it as well.

Thanks! I am hoping to make one similar to this. I was thinking about a barrier for the shavings too. It looks like you have a small wooden one, was that not enough? I would think you would want it removable for when you are cleaning the shavings, but maybe not?

This has got to be the greatest brooder and the greatest cat entertainment center I've ever seen. I love it LOTS. Don't have the cats but I would be totally entertained!

It's 4 feet wide, 2.5 feet deep. In the summer they move out to the grow out pen pretty quickly because it's so hot where we live. They aren't usually in there linger than 6 weeks. It depends on the weather and how many I am hatching. I have 2 fully enclosed grow out pens outside that they stay in until they are old enough for the breeding/show coops

How many do you put in your grow out pens? I love your darker blue one with 2 doors! Any instructions?
