Hi everyone! So we have 4 Jumbo Pekin ducks. We live in Vermont, so we get pretty heavy and cold winters here. I'm just wondering if we need to do any preparation for them for the winter? They have shelter they go in and out of all day and get locked in at night. Of course their pool of water...
We have 5 Jumbo Pekin ducklings inside right now. Three of them are almost 3 weeks old (hatched August 1), two of them hatched August 8. They've been inside our house in a rabbit cage with a dropping pan underneath and a heat lamp above. We take them out every night and clean their dropping pan...
The dog could not have done it. He was more afraid of the duck and didn't have any dried blood on him or anything, and would have destroyed more stuff. We don't have these beer cans other these color light bulbs anywhere on or near our property either.

Hi everyone,
It is with deep sorrow I must share that our dear Swedish blue, Nibble, has passed on. We came home monday evening to find him standing by his fence, not moving, with his skin eaten up all over his body, underneath his wings, etc. He was a bloody mess. He was left to die by...

We weren't going to put the ducklings with him, they stay inside with us until they are adults. I'll have to try the broom thing, I always worry about hurting him though!
Hey all!
So we finally got oup duck coop built and the fence and everything ready outside a month or two ago, and officially moved Nibble outside to live. He seems to love it, as expected. :) Our only issue, is he has turned mean! Whenever we go in his fence to unlock and open his coop door...
Now that the weather is warming up and spring is around the corner here in Vermont, we are beginning to think of the outside duck coop we are going to be making to get Nibble outside, and for his buddies when they are born and come home with us as well in April. We are thinking of making...
All good to know! Well, he ended up getting the tights off after 2 days and his wing didn't even look a little bit better so we are back at square one with nothing working...
Well, we did manage to get the nylons back on him and taped it some and he's kep that on all night so far. I read somewhere the angel wing thing can shorten their life span if not fixed? Is that true or just crazy talk?
