Have 6 Roosters (they are 5 months old) that must go within the next few days...otherwise, we're eating them! They pecked one of our hens almost to death today and I won't stand for that!
Must be able to pick up.
I have Cuckoo Marans and I raised them from chicks. My question is some are dark almost black are those hens? because the ones that look similar to a barred rock look like roosters and are lighter in color.

Has anyone received pullets from a Poultry and there peeks be cut or trimmed ? I've had mine about a week and just now notice this just wanted to make sure it was not some kind of disease.Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
My question is do the current hens I've had for a while ever quit pecking at the new pullets? Or do I need to seperate them and put my newbies elsewhere.I know they have a so call pecking order just like someone elses piece of mind on this.
Thanks .
Its spring here I'm in lincoln county N.C . Its funny some days you might get one egg then nothing for a week the hens are not losing any feathers like when there molting and I feed them laying mash everyday.
Anyone got hens that have quit laying eggs? Is it a certain time of season that they stop for a while,or are they molting, I was getting 3 eggs a day back about two months ago. Anyone with any suggestions.
No your chickens are not weird I have three hens that sleep on the roost and a rooster that sleeps at the door on the floor of the chicken house it's like he is the watchman.
