Sick Chicken - how to get antibiotics in CA?

Need some advice. I have a chicken with ascites. I successfully drained fluid off of her and she gradually drained for a few days after from the punctures where I used the syringe. She’s much more comfortable but she’s not snapping back like others have. She’s secluded in a crate in the house...

Update: So the little dude is 11 weeks old and just started getting feather quills poking out in most of his naked areas. His neck and chest still have many bald patches and he still has a crazy mullet. I’m surprised he’s actually feathering and blown away that it took 11 weeks for him to start!

I’m feeding flockraiser with 20% protein. I have 30% gamebird feed I can add in but I’ve got light breeds and ducklings all together so I thought it’d be overkill. Luckily he’s a Silicon Valley bird so no extreme weather here. He’s also in a brooder coop that has 3 week old babies on the other...

He’s 99.9% boy. If for some crazy reason he ends up a she I’ll definitely keep it but I’m pretty sure that ship has sailed.

I’m a sucker, too. It doesn’t hurt that he’s a love bug. My 3-year-old thinks he’s the bees knees and named him “Chicken Wing” :love But alas my inner adult keeps reminding me he cannot stay. He cannot stay. He cannot stay. :barnie

Darn! I’d have done it, too! I’ll totally ship him once he’s older and I’ll even go halfers on the box with whoever wants him. I’d love to see what he grows into. I’m in city limits so I only keep my special-needs, old lady flock here. Hobby breeding flocks are on my family’s property and they...

You guys are a crack up!! I pinged the person I got the eggs from and she’s at a total loss. She’s also breeding for blue egg color so most of her bird build off of Ameraucanas and Cream Legbars. She has no Turkens and never has. I’ve got enough projects going on around here so if anyone in...

Definitely from purchased eggs then. Never had and never would go out to seek that intentionally. So is there such thing as Nearly Naked Turken? :D Because this is what he is!

He’s got thick green legs and his head and mullet are feathering out in a brownish ticked pattern. Dunno what else he could be. He’s giant tho.

Yeah, I feel bad for him. I only let them out when I’m watching so he doesn’t get too much direct sun.

Hi folks, need help with this strange little creature. I hatched my own polish, EEs and threw in some purchased EE eggs in for good measure. Fast forward 6 weeks from hatch and I have this creature. He’s MASSIVE and towers over the other EEs, he’s the weight of 6 Polish the same age...

    Miniature chick? Failure to thrive?

I just called the hatchery to see if there was any possibility a bantam could have gotten in my order by accident and the answer is no. Apparently they aren't even hatching bantams yet so no possibility there. Back to the drawing board. :(
