@junebuggena he seems like he's been eating fine I even checked his crop to see and it was nice and full. I also don't think he's been too warm he's outside where it's about 70 during the day and in the 50s at night. The rest of them seem to have no problem keeping themselves warm so I'm...
@cavemanrich nice, I've always thought those cats were rather strange looking. Thank goodness we only keep reformed ferals.
I feel bad for the naked chickie, but I think I'm just going to bring him in to soak on the evenings he gets to cold and then have him cuddle with his buddies in the coop...
I have a six-week-old light brahma that has almost no feathers. Today he was crying outside because he was cold. When I picked him up his feet were really cold so I brought him inside and gave him a little warm water to stand in. He seems much happier now cuddled up in a towel chilling. What...

Is anyone here from Tillamook County? I'm looking for silkie hatching eggs, welsh harlequin eggs, ancona eggs or ducklings, and call duck eggs or ducklings. It's probably a long shot but I'm not having much luck other places I've looked.
Check on Craigslist lots of people have Ancona...
Heard the cutest thing this morning. One of my 5-week-olds crowed after hearing the outside roos. So adorable and high pitched... And kind of gurglely. So now I know I have a roo in there, wonder which one.
Well no hatch for me all the eggs quit. It's probably because I don't know what I'm doing. Still kind of disappointing though. You guys better put up lots of pictures of your chickies hatching.
So I candled my eggs and they are actually developing maybe a little slower than they should be... But it's really happening!! To clarify I didn't expect any as we did not know the age of the eggs- we found them by the wood pile under the tarp- and I don't know what I'm doing... Anyway they all...
I set 23 eggs this Sunday in my lg 9200 still air as this is my first time ever trying to hatch I think I may have messed it up. The thermometer I put in was to low (more like the middle of the egg than the top) and read 100. Today I moved it up to near the top of the eggs and it read 108. Is it...
I finally caught up!! I set 23 eggs on Sunday evening. They were of unknown age but had decent air cells. This is my first time ever trying to hatch with an incubator so we will see how it goes. I have an lg 9200 still air and may have already ruined the hatch. The thermometer I put in went down...
I think I'm going to go for faverolles as they seem tone a favorite at home. I posted on the faverolle thread so I'll see if that goes somewhere but I still need general information on breeding.
So I think I want to try my hand at breeding faverolles. This would be as a first time breeder of course, but I would need to find some breeding stock as all my previous faverolles I've had are no longer. Any help on breeding them would be much appreciated as I don't really know what I'm doing yet.
I'm thinking about possibly breeding chickens that have either feathered feet or beards or both. But I really need some information about breeding and trying to keep them true to breed. Is it really hard to start a breeding program? And what kind of things would I need? Also finding decent...
