They need protein...they need to be on starter and get protein treats, like cottage cheese, yogurt,scrambled eggs. They are probably not being fed any scratch either.

What i did is when the starter was almost gone and they were almost 15 weeks old, i just started them on Layena Purina. So if you are running out of their starter and they are 15 or 16 weeks old you can get them started on layer cumbles. If not keep them on the starter.

Sounds the same as me...i just let them eat what they want. They must need it. I throw in a little oyster shell with their scratch. I picked up a couple of free range chickens and they ate and ate and ate when i brought them home. I felt so sorry for them. Quote:
