At what age do Roos develop their hackle and saddle feathers? The reason I ask is I have two white rocks that I got from TSC. One is for sure a pullet but I've gone back and forth with the other one. It has a much larger comb and wattles than the pullet but it doesn't have any hackle or saddle...

Yeah definitely Red Sexlink pullets. My two looked exactly like the one in the last picture. This is them at 8 weeks The one in the coop and the red one on the ground.

As luck would have it ants have decided that they want to move in the coop with our girls. What can we use to get rid of these suckers?

Me and my husband are new to having chickens and we just started building our coop. We live in southern Georgia so we were wondering if we should/need to insulate our coop. It's going to be a 5x5 space with a metal roof and wood sides, if that makes any difference.

She's acting just fine so I'm hoping I'll start seeing her bottom become fuzzy again! I've wanted chickens for so long and I now that I have them I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Thank you for your input!
