Oh my! I really should write these from my computer not my phone. The drakes are pinning each other in the pool. Either a confused mating thing or reestablishing their own heierarchy. The hens (chickens) have learned to hop up on the “balance beam” when the duck bug them because they are out of...
Yes! I gently but firmly pin the. To the ground and it worked I. Two days! Amazing! Sometimes I. Red to remind them but they are great. They are now being really mean to our hens and occasionally pinning each other in their pool but being nice to me.
I’m getting mixed replies as to whether the TSC store I bought my Bantams from actually vaccinated for mereks or not. They said they think they came from townline hatchery but Aren’t sure. Ahhhh!!!

I adopted two Welsh harlequins in the fall from a friend whose birds were being taken by an owl. They are boys and integrated into my tiny flock of four hens with no problem. They were about 8 months old at the time. In the last few weeks they’ve started following me around a lot, pecking my...
I think my hen has scaly leg mites. Ive dusted her a few times with diatomaceous earth which seemed to reduce her picking, but then she went broody. Now she has three chicks in the coop. What do I do? I don't know if she still has the problem because I hardly see her legs, but I don't want...
Thank you. I agree that it is the mothering in us. I have three human babies and I wanted to offer this chick the same I would offer my kids. I hope your chick pulls through!

That was a nice post until the part that you doubted my reading the article. That was slightly rude, my friend and kind of out of line to make a judgement call on me from my postings on a chicken board. I absolutely read the article and after spending the time with the animal that I...
Thank you. I don't have the experience to fill the crop myself. I'd be horrified if I messed up. I hate to let this little one fade thought. I WISH IT WOULD JUST EAT!!!!!!!
I got the eggs from a person in Tenesee. The other one that did hatch seems fine. I had incubator problems with the temp and humidity not being constant. (It was borrowed). None of the other eggs hatched, so that being said- it may have been the incubator. I had to help this little one...
That's great! I'm going to try for a few days. The chickie pecked at the honey! Only once, but it seemed to like it. Picts to come today!
Here's a picture. The brown one hatched on it's own on day 21. The white one is my intensive care chiky.
