    Mistake!!

Hello, so I bought 4 turkey chicks at tractor supply. Well turns out one is a chicken meat bird. I have never had a meat bird. This one out of my whole flock is my favorite. Do baby turkeys and baby meat birds look so alike they could mistakenly be mixed together. This hen got so big so fast I...

There personalities are pretty awesome, they look so vibrant and their bond compared to the others I incubated is...

You are doing a good size garden. That is great. We have tilled the I’m going to plant tomorrow. My plants are two months old and ready for the ground. We have had so many obstacles so far. Tiny tiny black bugs in the chicken coop, help!

The bugs in my coop that are black like that hang out in my nesting boxes. I believe they are part of the meal work transformation. Either the bug turns into the work or the worm into the bug. Not sure which but usually once I start seeing the bugs I start seeing the worms. Nature kinda takes...

    Any guess’s on what happened?

I sure do. I have a good light too. I’m just worried if I disturb their nest they will not go back to it that is what happened last time and this is they’re first time sitting. Is the candling really that appropriate important this far into the sitting?

    Any guess’s on what happened?

just to clarify... To cold to leave ducklings in their pin outside with this weatherThere too small. They will be to big for the mamma to have around her babies when they hatch. If they were smaller we could sneak them in there. Also I went back are reread are thread. My girls have been...

    Any guess’s on what happened?

Ok, It seems like I’m making every mistake that can be made all at once. I will have to figure out a space for everyone. Something that is adequate for the separation but the protection of the little ones as well. Which will be hard. I found out three hatched on the 3rd and two on the 8th. So it...

    Any guess’s on what happened?

Also, I was given 5 ducklings. They have been introduced to three of my adult ducks. They don’t seem to hate the ducklings but they are not making it easy for them. They are not allowing them to get to the water source. Keeping them cornered and running towards them with their necks stiff. No...

    Covid-panic-induced chicken keeping?

How could a place like that no longer be in existence. I guess the grocery store could take all the business. If so what a shame. We are growing things that we know will be plentiful and harvest well like green beans carrots cucumbers tomatoes. Nothing fancy just good we will have on hand. If...

    Covid-panic-induced chicken keeping?

I may be jumping in really late on this question. We placed an order for pullets in January. We were ordering 70 for ourselves, and 20 more for friends. We get our pullets from the same man each year an Amish guy just over the DE line. (I’m in MD) We have always paid the same price $7 per pullet...

    Wrinkled egg-is this a problem?

Nothing to worry about it looks great. My wrinkly one are usually thin shelled and I’ve always thought it reflected a calcium deficiency or something to that extent. Yours look wrinkly and strong shelled. I believe its a keeper.

    Wrinkled egg-is this a problem?

I’ve always had one wrinkled egg layer in each flock. The eggs were super wrinkled. In my experience they were fine, it was no tract issue or issue at all. The hens that laid the wrinkled eggs that was what they laid. They did not lay a smooth normal egg then every once in a while jay a wrinkly...

How do I get my ducks to nest?

Can you all offer any advice to me about nesting. Im allow a broody hen to sit on eggs for the first time. She will be one in June. She has been sitting for 10 days.
