You're absolutely right, I apologize, I forgot which pictures I had posted. Yes the one with red is looking like a roo. However, he still hasn't crowed. All the other Roo's have begun to crow. Late bloomer?
They are 12 weeks old. They have a coop inside their building but the door stays open because the run was so secure (so we thought). We've had geese and ducks in the same run for 3 years with no incidents. I even had my father come out today and we walked every inch of it trying to find...
I started off with 11 buff orps, and now down to 7. I have them in a 15 foot by 15 foot chicken run that's buried about a foot down on all the walls. I have chicken wire on all sides and partially buried as well, and a tin roof. But something keeps getting in and biting my chickens heads off...
To the naked eye they look black, but when I turn my flash on there's a slight reddish tint. That's what was really making me nervous. But I read that the severity of the fibro varies from cemani to cemani. I pm'ed @cjwaldon. Thank you so much for your help!
New to this breed, so very unfamiliar. Took a gamble and bought "3 purebred ayam cemani hens and 1 purebred rooster" off of a buy sell trade forum. I'm curious as to if you guys think they are true cemani's. Just to put my mind to rest (as far as the cost lol) You're not going to hurt my...
My wife and I just purchased this trio today, and I won't say what breed we bought them as. I was curious as to what you guys think they are. Also, the roo has pulled a good number of feathers off the hens' back. What's the best way to prevent that and to help the hens fill back out?
That's what scared me, was the price. I live in southwest MO, and in this area they normally go for about 150$ for a trio. But, I just think this family doesn't really know what they have. Their kids had these birds for show birds in 4h and vo-ag events. They have the ribbons and trophies and...
My wife and I have a couple different flocks of chickens ranging from Australorps, Buff Orps, Silver laced Wyandottes, etc. I was just recently approached and asked if I would be interested in buying 3 (2 hens and a rooster) Jubilee Orpingtons. I haven't done very much research, but I know...
