I have bantams but I don't know if they're the right kind for this thread. Theyre al black, if that helps. Now the rooster has some red on him.

***OKIES in the BYC III ***

AWe I'm so sorry for yalls loss! We're about to get a hard plastic pool for ours to cool off in. I'm surprised we haven't lost any tbh. Although I am worried about some chicken hawks. The other day my aunt heard our rooster going beserk and went outside to see him just crowing away, all of our...

***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well the only ones I know for sure are the bantams, or as we call them bannies. We have about six hens and two roosters, not counting the two roosters and three banny hens we hatched about four months ago. And we have about 30 babies we've hatched that are a mix of the big rooster and our hens.

HELP!! SO WIERD. A miracle/mystery chick???

We had some bantams that we let hatch some eggs and we never found the shells for about three of the five. We've fed our Rhode Island Red hens shells before so we figured they ate the shells. I imagine that it's the equivalent to a human mother eating the placenta. Source of protein and whatnot...

Out of the two batches of incubator babies, which are about a month or so apart, the second hatch came out so much friendly and people loving. And when I say people loving I mean me. Lil' Grey will sit on my shoulder, my lap...

    Gender identifies please!

This is Lil' Grey. After reading yalls replies I think he maybe a rooster but his poor tail feathers are so short. And btw, we have no clue what kinds of chickens we have. We just got them from my aunt and uncles pastor.

    Okie chickens

This is our big bad rooster, Roho. If me or my aunt so much as walk into our backyard he tries to flog us. Now he's scared of my uncle. But we have what we call a whoopin stick and carry it with us. We've already cut his Spurs off but he's still mean and needs to be reminded with a few gentle...

    Gender identifies please!

So we've recently ( a few months ago) hatched some chickens and I'm still having a hard time telling if they're rooster or hens. How can I tell?

    Okie chickens

Hi, I'm Gabby! I'm a college student at SOSU in Durant, OK. Back home I help my parents raise chickens and take care of our humble little chicken farm (aka our backyard). We've only been at this for about a year or so now but we've definitely grown a lot. We started out with three hens and now...
