    Need help.

They have been out walking around the yard. Other than a limp and laying down they seem completely fine. They are running when they have to and are just laying in the sun . The symptoms they have don't go with any disease I have found. It's basically a limp and just wanting to lay down all the time.

Could it also be that they are sore because they are getting closer to laying eggs. They are fed great feed and always have clean water and I clean the coup out almost weekly. Sometimes it's more or less frequent depending on the weather. They better the weather the less they are in the coup.

    Need help.

They both have no mucus, normal poop, and they are acting very happy, they are both eating and drinking normally just just seem to be to lavy or weak to stand for a long time. If I move the water or feed around in the quarantine brooder, then get up and walk over with no issues then once there...

Topic of the week - Winter Chicken Keeping

I run no heat for my girls. I do have a heated water base. My coup is build inside my barn so it adds extra protection from the elements. I enclosed the outside run for the winter with tarps. It will be done better in the spring with a roof and windows to let in the winter sun to warm the...

    First Time In the Snow!

My girls don't like the snow. They only came out after I cleared the driveway and some walking paths. I have confined them to the outside run with full access into the coop. I just hung a head of cabbage for them and they don't seem to care for it..

    First egg

Every morning I get yelled at by the chickens if I don't let them out of the coop by 7:30 am. It's funny watching them all come out staring at me and bawking about what I can only assume is anger for not being allowed to run free as soon as the sun comes up
