    I used mason sand in my coop..got it at home depot 1000lbs for $25. Best choice so far. Easy clean up. I clean it every morning with a cat pooper scooper. Super easy. The coop is always spotless... no flys. Happy Hens!

    I got this big kennel at tractor supply and put the coop inside of it to protect them at night. It was only $299 and the roof was $99 i only keep in here at night and then i built them a little yard to play in next to their run. They are 100% secure.     It's been so hot at my house! , i only have 5 birds so i got dog crates and i put the chickens in the crates in a spare bedroom during the hottest part of the day. It was either that or get them an A/C unit.

    She is apparently 3 weeks... i also have a reverse silver laced orpington who is supposed to be the same age but i think both their ages are wrong. I belive they are a week apart. The bredder ended up getting us the wrong paperwork. This is the Silver laced, any age gueeses would great also

    Good eye, they do sometimes block her from the food... we make sure she's eating and will sit in there every so often to make sure she's OK

    Great questions... no pastey butt, not really getting bullied,maybe they do a little but they are all about the same age. She eats and drinks and I've started putting a little water in her food. She seems to like that. I've got her on my chest with a blanket right now and she's totally content...
