    Bumble Foot?

For some reason, I have stuck my oiled fingers in a vent hole, but squeezing any type of what I saw in videos last night, makes me cringe & sweat!

    Bumble Foot?

So when we soak it, will the scab, if there is one, wrinkle to be able to catch and pull? I hope that made sense. Lol

    Bumble Foot?

We were searching last night and read that you mix iodine with sugar to a peanut butter consistency. Slap it on and wrap it up. We were also thinking Manuka honey. We're just not sure if this is her regular footing, because she's not limping and we don't feel any type of "scab".

    Bumble Foot?

Thinking this is bumble foot, but she's acting fine & not limping. 1st time dealing with this as this is our 1st backyard flock. This is my son's baby! Is this contagious to our other 3 hens or to humans? We just ordered some iodine to do a iodine and sugar wrap. If the scab has no crusty...

    New SWEETIES!

Thank you! She was in a sexed bin, but .... HAHA What about the "giant" part? The word is a little scary as we are still 1 year new at raising chicks.

    Is there a difference between....

Is there a difference between blue laced red & red laced blue Wyandottes? We got three chicks yesterday to love up under our broody hen. It went perfectly! Here is one of the "Blue Laced Red Wyandotte's" up close and then 2 of them from above. The other one I posted another thread about, because...

    It's me again....

I placed the eggs under her on 3/30 around 5pm and they look the same as the pictures above. I actually sneaked another one in 2 nights later. LOL So far, they all look the same, so I will keep you posted. FINGERS CROSSED!

    It's me again....

I hear that! Will discard it when I get home. Can I put some more eggs under her if the others seem to be duds? Just wondering how long she will stay broody. We actually have 2 babu chicks coming at the end of May

    It's me again....

Our broody barred cochin NEEDED to be a mom, so we jumped on down to Trader Joes to get her some fertile eggs. She has been sitting on them for about a week now and I have a few questions as a newbie. 1) We have been candling them every night and see no change. When should we start raising...

    Broody? Panting? HELP PLEASE!

Here is a video of her today. She always kinda has her beak open for breathing. Is this something I should worry about? They all three will take a dust bath on top of the grave of Penelope who passed a week or so ago. :/

    AzureStandard for feed?

Is this a decent food & price? We are still fairly new and the feed store we used to go to is closing it's doors. Thank you for the help. https://www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/naturally-free-poultry-layer-feed-16%25-soy-and-corn-free-organic/14948

    Broody? Panting? HELP PLEASE!

Thanks everyone! Such a great advice. Sorry for the late reply. I honestly am not sure what helped, but off the cuff, I also slapped a tad bit of coconut oil on her vent and 5 minutes later her egg popped out and she was off and running with our other two. Sigh of relief since she is my...
