    Winter Heating & Winter Play

HI everyone :) I am in IL and it's starting to dip into the 20's at night. I have been adding some extra straw but at what point would everyone recommend putting in heat lamps? I have a flock of 10 who go in to sleep in a space of about 10 x 6, possibly larger just guestimating. Also, does...

    Duck hives?

There has been no switch in food or diet except they recently tried peas and corn as a treat. The peas they all ate and none were very crazy about the corn. It has been about 2 weeks since the first bumps showed up on my Khaki Drake

Woke up to a hen with a bad limp today

She iis not too heavy but by no means small. Shes a medium size in the group. She seems to be improving a little bit the past 2or 3 days but still limping and the favored leg does feel a bit warmer to the touch. Does that indicate a fever?

Woke up to a hen with a bad limp today

She is a Silver Appleyard. Around a year old. She is extremely mild tempered (hence her name is Sweety). I havent seen that its swollen or warm to the touch. I will check her again today. I thought maybe the cold temps were slowing the healing and have been bringing herbin for warm baths to try...

How many Ducks does everyone have.

Older ones dont mind the babies much at all. Just make sure theyre definitely old enough to be outside anyway and have enough space. Mine have different nooks and places they can go be alone if wanted. Also, give them time! :) It may take a couple weeks for them to figure out who belongs where :)

How many Ducks does everyone have.

Hi :) I started out with 6 mixed from the store this Spring and after a nasty coon attack went down to 2. Im now back up to 10.
