Adopted 3 Serama chicks from a friend. Their mother disappeared and my friend was afraid the other chickens would kill them, so she asked me if I was interested in taking them in. Couldn't resist!
This one above is definitely a roo!
Supposedly they're about 4 week and I've already had them...
So I've noticed some odd looking chicken poop this week but I couldn't tell which chicken was behind it. So I decided to deworm my entire flock on Tuesday.(5 chickens) I didn't see the poop again until today. I was cleaning out the chicken run when I saw one of my chickens poop this...
Thank you! I was worried that the black and white one was a rooster. I know, but I just had to get her. I ended up giving both a flee and tick bath then sprayed a solution on them for mites. I also gave them raw pumpkin seeds just in case they had worms, I know it's probably not enough with the...
Hey y'all! So I recently "adopted" two chickens and I'm not sure the breeds nor the genders. So help me out!
Long story short, I was driving down a street on the opposite side of town when I noticed a lady selling chickens from afar. So I pulled over and decided to buy one of the hens manly...
This is Sol my 7 week Easter Egger. He's a sweetheart with everyone.
This is Sols brother Barbossa, Which is a real jerk with his sisters and loves plucking feathers off of poor Sol.
So this is Ginger, she's about 5 weeks. She's the most aggressive and largest of all my chicks, and loves to jump and peck( terrorizing) her sisters. I originally ordered five pullets but was given an extra, and perhaps Ginger is the "extra". Anyways, I'm thinking she might be a rooster, for her...
Haha that's crazy! I guess she needed to try meat out to "find herself." Honestly chicken wings are my weakness, I still crave them lol
My brother was vegetarian for a good six months until one drunk night out with friends... He ended up ordering the biggest burger at whataburger! And didn't...
Hello! I've recently became vegetarian about a month ago and to be honest it wasn't that difficult for me. I was never that fond of eating meat in the first place, so I figured to just go straight vegetarian! Anyways I've gotta read more on this thread!
I wouldn't be able to put the brooder outside for the weather has been reaching 108 lately and I'm afraid their little bodies will not withstand that kind of heat this young. I don't think the link posted??But I'd really appreciate if you posted the link to the article so I could read it!:)
Oh man I've visited Arizona a couple of times and it's hot! How early did you introduced your chicks to the dog? I feel like mine would just go for the kill...so he's never near them. Thank you! You know, they're pretty sweet and like to hang near me ha it's mostly Kiki(the white one) and...
Thank you! No, I wish I got video of the fight! The fan is a good idea! I never thought of it, so I'll probably give it a try. Sadly they don't have a play pen, but I do take them out twice a day from their brooder to play on the floor, which they really enjoy lol
So my EE's are going to be 2 weeks old tomorrow and I decided to take them outside earlier today for the very first time. At first they all seemed pretty petrified standing in the grass lol but after a few minutes they stared walking around and immediately began fighting over a flower petal...
