Help! Guinea fowl with swollen head

One of my guinea hens has a swollen bump on her head, making the skin fold over the back of the helmet a bit. When I picked her up to examine the lump, I found that it feels like a water balloon. The back of her head and the top of her neck are swollen. I have her isolated, and her poop looks...

Two guineas and a leghorn dead. Please help!

I posted a thread about the leghorn I lost recently. Now I have lost two guineas. The leghorn was basically standing still and not responding, and the next day she passed away. Today I found a dead guinea in the coop, and one outside that was barely alive. His head was flopping back, he seemed...

    Hen not responding, please help!

One of my leghorn hens was standing in the coop last night. She is usually very flighty, and won't let me touch her. Now she is not responding to anything I do. Her eyes are mostly closed, and she is slightly wobbly. I checked her vent, and it looked fine. She doesn't have mites. Her poop looked...

    Breeding confusion

Hi! I have some BB red bantam roos. They have been trying to mate with my standard size white leghorn hens. I was wondering, if I hatch some leghorn eggs, assuming they ate fertile, what will they be? Will they be standatd like the mom, or bantam like the dad?

    Frustrating momma

I had a broody guinea hen, so I let her sit on some eggs. I gave her a dish of water and food. She sat on those eggs until the 26th day. They were supposed to hatch on the 28th. She suddenly decided to up on the eggs. I don't have an incubator, so currently the eggs are wrapped in a towel in an...

Hi. I have a chicken who had a vitamin deficiency. It affected his leg, making it hard for him to walk. Now he holds the leg out in front of him, his good leg behind him. He sidesteps to walk. I was wondering if I could tie a strip of fabric or something around the two legs so he holds them...

    ESCAPE!!!

Has anyone ever had their chickens escape the coop? Well, here is where you can post about it! Mine escaped yesterday, in the middle of winter. I haven't been letting them free range in winter because they will sit in the snow until we come and take them in. We don't want frozen chicken...

    Bantams

I was wondering what kind of chickens these are. I had another thread when they were babies, but I wonder if it would be easier to identify them now. Here are their pics. The last one was when we first got them and they were chicks. The one I'm holding is George. Each looks a little different...

    HELP! Hurt foot!

I have these chickens from the Amish auction that I believe to be BB red OEGs. Today, I noticed this one has a hurt foot. I was watching them yesterday, and I don't think it was hurt then. We were watching her to see how she was doing with her foot when a rooster jumped on top of her and pinned...

    What breed is this?!

I got these from the Amish auction and my best guess of what they are is a Rhode island red crossed with a bantam. Any other ideas? The largest is the mother hen. The rest are her chicks. Please help me!
