Hi! I have some BB red bantam roos. They have been trying to mate with my standard size white leghorn hens. I was wondering, if I hatch some leghorn eggs, assuming they ate fertile, what will they be? Will they be standatd like the mom, or bantam like the dad?

I have discovered from breeding bantam to standard they are usually a combo of the two. For example, I bred a 1 1/2 OEGB pound rooster to a 4 pound hen, the roosters were about 3 pounds, and the hens were about 2 pounds. I would try hatching some of these eggs if you want to, you might get some pretty cool chickens!

I'll post pics of the chicks if I decide to hatch some. Here are some pics of the breeds in question: IMG_20170211_161921.jpg IMG_20170211_162104.jpg IMG_20170211_161305.jpg IMG_20170211_161412.jpg IMG_20170211_161022.jpg

I am not 100% sure if they are OEGBs or not, so he could be mixed breeds. We got them from an auction.

The two closed ups are of Ignis and George. George is above Ignis.

One of them looks like it could be a white Leghorn bantam, I'm sure that flock is OEGB though, I raise OEGB, I have for about 8 years now
