    Mixing chicks

Hey all. I have a momma hen who just hatched out 7 little baby chicks, less than a week ago. I have her and the baby's separated from the rest of the flock. I also expect 4 eggs I gave to a friend of mine to hatch for me in an incubator to hatch in the next few days. I think I'd like to put the...

    Odd chick

Hi. Yes she seems awful flustered. Unfortunately she isn't back yet this morning. I searched around a good bit for her but, no luck. Also, yes there is a cockerel. He and the other girls are calling and searching too. Hope she comes back.

    Moving a chicken coop

I'm not sure what thickness, as in the pipe wall, but I would get at least 4" diameter. I assume the thicker the pipe the stronger it would be. Whatever your local home depot sells. The least expensive piece they have makes sense to me. Im sure it wont break.

    Moving a chicken coop

Maybe try and slide a couple of 2x4s under those legs...long ways. 2 or 3 lengths of pvc and you'll be able to push or pull it yourself I'd bet. Ive moved a few heavy sheds much bigger than that the same way. It will work.

    Moving a chicken coop

Pipe. 4" pvc and it'll roll like its on wheels. Just have to keep moving the rear pipe to the front. You'll be able to turn it too.

Topic of the Week - When Do Pullets Begin Laying?

Buff orps at about 20 weeks and and the barred rocks are 18 weeks. I have oyster shell in a separate container but it doesn't seem to be going over to well. I'm expecting they take it as they need it. I can wait. I'm not sure that I'll even get an egg this year.
