    Any ideas on breed?

I'm not sure if they're mixed breed or pure, they were purchased as fertilized eggs. Any guesses would be greatly appreciated!

JM Freedom Ranger Muscovy for Meat - Any Experiences?

Hello, I am by no means an expert but I'll share what I've learned with my Muscovy's. My Muscovy's are in a 10X6 pen, I left them locked up in there for a few weeks while we built their outside pen. Once they were allowed outside they would always return to their pen at nightfall. I find they...

    Need some advice!

So my chicks started hatching yesterday on day 21. One has fully hatched but there is one that pipped almost 24 hours ago and is still not out. Should I help it out or leave it? It's had the hole with its beak out for awhile and I'm worried that it's drying out inside the shell

    Need some advice!

Hello everyone So I posted here awhile back about how to best transport fertile eggs during our 900 mile move to northern Ontario Well we did it. I didn't end up getting the incubator set up until day 12 after they were layed but I did get them in there. We had a few bumps with temperature as...

    Questions- Moving with eggs

Actually that cuts down on a lot of stress. You think they'd still be viable to incubate after all of that time? Should I still turn them? How would I store them? Egg cartons? Temperatures for storing until incubation?

    Ducks and chickens?

That's good to hear. We'll probably be separating them come spring but if I can get away with housing them with the chickens until then it'll cut out a lot of work!

    Questions- Moving with eggs

It's a long drive- 18 hrs straight through. We're driving straight through but with a uhaul, livestock trailer, dogs and a 4 month old so I'm guessing we'll be lucky to do it in 22-24 hrs. I do have some hand warmers I was going to use as backup. I was planning on putting the heat source at the...

    Questions- Moving with eggs

Hello, I've got several questions about incubation and hatching but first a little backstory- We are going to be moving in 12 days (big move 900 miles). We are carting all our livestock up with us, but had located a local flock of chickens that we were going to pick up once we'd arrived. Our...

    Ducks and chickens?

Okay that's good to know. Thank you for your replies! I'm wondering if a heated water bowl outside of the coop would be sufficient for the ducks? Deep enough? The bowls I got for the rabbits are 1.5L heated bowls, pretty sure I can get a few more if that would work for them. If not any ideas...

    Ducks and chickens?

Hello everyone, I'm new here and will be starting a farm in a few weeks. I'm planning on keeping our three Muscovy ducks in the same pen as our chickens ( temperament depending) so my question is this- Does anyone know if ducks will use the same type of nipple waterer that chickens will? Is it...
