In the Brooder

Hello everyone
So I posted here awhile back about how to best transport fertile eggs during our 900 mile move to northern Ontario

Well we did it. I didn't end up getting the incubator set up until day 12 after they were layed but I did get them in there.
We had a few bumps with temperature as we got used to having a Woodstove for heat but I've now got 21 eggs that are on day 20.
I candled them right before lockdown and everything looked good.

Here are my questions:

-a few days ago my sister in law brought be some eggs that were hatching under a brooder and she started pecking at them. So I now have 6 chicks in my brooder that will be 4-5 days old when mine hatch.
Can they go into the same brooder?

-what's the likelihood that my eggs could have been damaged when I added the hatching chicks? The incubator was opened and closed a lot that day (day 17) but I did my best to keep the temps/humidity steady and it has not been opened since lockdown.

-I know the likelihood of all 21 eggs hatching (especially after all our mishaps) isn't high, but can anyone share some success stories for me?
I feel like I've read 100 stories of everything being great until lockdown and then only 1 chick makes it!!

Thanks to all who've read this far. Sorry for the long post!

I would not recommend putting newly hatched chicks in with these that are several days older. I would wait until they are 3 or 4 days old and completely mobile to introduce them.

I doubt that your eggs were damaged.

I'm no long on predictions, but it sounds as if things are progressing properly. Good luck for a successful hatch.

So my chicks started hatching yesterday on day 21.
One has fully hatched but there is one that pipped almost 24 hours ago and is still not out.

Should I help it out or leave it? It's had the hole with its beak out for awhile and I'm worried that it's drying out inside the shell
