I need some advice/opinions on bantams… I have had “regular” sized chickens for years so I know all about bio security and quarantine process BUT long story short my sweet neighbor passed away sometime between the 8th and 11th of June… and we all knew she had a...

How Cold of Weather Can Chickens Stand Outside of Coop?

I have 15 hens ranging from about 4 yrs old to 10 mths old, and i let them decide for themselves if they want to stay in or go out. My Coop is split into 2 rooms, one side is nest boxes and roost bars the other is their food/water (we have electricity out there so we use a heated hanging...

    Question about Bumblefoot

Hello, I know there are hundreds of bumblefoot threads already and I've read through most but I just want to make sure.... Ya she's about 18 mths old was just worried about the quick change in temp.. we ended up putting her out in the "baby/newbie" run and they all came and visited through the fence for a few minutes then continued on to their favorite foraging spot and she just went about her merry way enjoying all...

Not sure if this the right forum... temp acclimating question...

Regarding temp acclimation I've had my hen in my bathroom for the last 2.5 days getting some extra tlc, I feel she's ready to rejoin the flock but I worry she's gotten used to 60ish temps. It's in the mid to high 40s today and no freezing expected over night for at least the next week... right...
