It is the hyper sterile environment that you have to watch out for. Children that don't play outside and get muddy and eat bugs never develop a potent immune system. Or a relationship with the natural world. Both are scary things to deprive children.

First day at the park! Well, to celebrate most of them being 2 weeks I took them to the grassy knoll across the way. The babies were a big hit with young and older people alike. There are 2 hens that are growing rapidly. In an interesting twist the small "bantam" that hatched 3 days later...

My lil chicas got a bath today and I noticed the ones I think are males became even more obvious (the compact dark black wing feathers). I promise to post some photos tonight. Cloverleaf will let me hear it otherwise. p.s. looks like a lot more hens than cocks but I am no expert.

I posted this question over in egg hatching land but realize now that it may be more appropriate over in this section. Where do bantams come from? Are they selectively bred from the LF to be smaller and smaller until the desired size is made? Thanks.
