    Poor Charlie and Dolores

I think we are in the same boat as you regarding vets/poultry. Although having said that one of our female vets keeps chickens and tries to be helpful. They send the mobile van to a local village once a week so I'll pop her down so she can at least be seen (rather than just having a description...

    Poor Charlie and Dolores

Never hurts to ask the question. I have check and double-checked her legs and feet. No redness, swelling or heat. If anything they are , I think, quite cool (bordering on cold). Although not dramatically, she lists to one side (even in water). I'm wondering if she has had a slight stroke...

Yes - Internet is an amazing thing isn't it - I didn't think to put location on my profile :S Charlie has improved so much. Today (Sun) he has spent the entire day walking and standing - I noticed he had a slight limp yesterday and kept sitting. No sign of limp now and he seems very perky...

    Poor Charlie and Dolores

Well I can get them in the bath . We have an Avian Flu lock down at the moment lasting until end of Feb. However I have been wrapping them in towels (to stop the flapping) and taking them to the bathroom to see if I can get their legs moving. Dolores moves about the bath quite well (Charlie...

His legs are very straight and seem to be quite strong - I've been out again to give him lunch and he's up and standing again. Lettuce is a problem at the moment as its not being imported in from Europe cos of the temperature drop there. Sweet Heart cabbage, Kale and Pak Choi are on the menu...

    Poor Charlie and Dolores

Thanks for your good wishes - it's always a "heart in mouth job" when livestock has a happening - thank goodness I found BYC 'cos everyone I spoke to here (including the vet) was scratching their heads. Lots of sheep and cattle farmers around here so guess most people I spoke to are not used...

Hiya Peoples - Just a fast update. **CHARLIE IS ON HIS FEET** When I went in to give breakfast - there he was, just standing in his bed - Legs were very straight and feet flat on the ground. He wasn't moving and I didn't encourage him to as I thought he is obviously just taking his time...

    Poor Charlie and Dolores

Well I have started giving them 1/4 multivit each with all the added niacin, B's etc etc. Got cabbages to hang and other "treats" scattered around the stable. Fingers crossed that it all works eventually. Thanks for your input and I'll post up from time to time to let anyone interested know...

    Poor Charlie and Dolores

I've spoken to the vets regarding the supplements and will start giving them these today. I had them in a bathtub yesterday and they both enjoyed being able to clean themselves properly and were using their legs well in the water. When you say it sorted itself in time can you remember roughly...

    Poor Charlie and Dolores
