The mom is either a black swedish or black swedish x mallard. She has a black head and neck, a clean white chest with no hazy edges, and brown plumage for the rest. The male is 100% mallard. Does anyone have pictures of this cross?
So the geese are 3 months old now. When he was 1 month old, he was finally starting to get his wing feathers. The others already grew most of their adult feathers, although they looked pretty scraggly. At 2-3 months, the other geese looked like adults already, while the gander still had the...
i tried to find embden gosling pics so i could compare growth rates with mine (no real reason, but very curious!) but no such luck. Any breed is honestly fine. Pictures of them at around 4 weeks is preferable, but any age would be great as long as the age of when the picture was taken is...
So this guy is one month old and is eating kale and seeds, but around noon he started getting weirdly sleeper than usual. Then he started pooping completely water, nothing else. He still eats fine, but he drinks an abnormal amount of water, even for a goose. Is there something I should look out for?
I thought geese only ate veggies and fruit. Two of my goslings go crazy for crickets. The female liked them especially and the male goes after ants, worm-like insects, and other bugs. Is it bad to feed them this? Should I stop?
Im in the bay area in CA, and am looking to sell a male gosling, nearly 2 weeks old. Im very sure he can still imprint. He has the most pure personality. He loves shoes but theyre on the other end of the house, so he tentatively walks there, gets spooked, comes back, and waits for us to come...
Ugh I can't believe I picked a gosling with so many...needs. After the plant incident too. This gosling drinks so much water, about 20 sips at a time. Her poo is basically water. We try not to give her a lot but then she tries to find water droplets to drink, and then she spits up water and...
I'm feeding her nutritional yeast. I couldn't find brewers yeast flakes at the store, only tablets, and I wasn't sure they would work. I'm thinking maybe the legs are just a habit.
My gosling had eaten a bit of Angel trumpet yesterday. I gave her a toxin flush. She ate alot, pooped like a machine and was generally fine. Yesterday night she suddenly looked like she was going to vomit. She did this two times more but both were maybe a second long each. Today she had yellow...
Update: she has been pooping weird watery yellow poop with bits in it. She ate some lettuce, lots of pellets and molasses flush. Is this something abnormal?
Yes, she eats a lot. She is a little unsteady but I'm not sure why, we gave her more than enough yeast and bought spring mix for the geese to eat. She has slightly bowed legs for some reason, it looks like niacin deficiency but there's no reason for it to be.
Thank you! She started drinking so much water, I think it's both the poison and the molasses that made her thirsty. I decided 8 hours were too long for her, so the first night, I kept it there for 3 hours, and then kept switching between clean water and the flush every couple sips.
Thank you for caring! Yes, I did the molasses flush because it was the only one on hand. It's been 24 hours since she ate the trumpet. But she's restless right now, I don't know if it's because of the poison or something else. She pooped a lot too, more than 10 times already. But she looked like...
I hope someone can answer these questions even if it's too late, it might help others in the future. Unlike me of course. Who *cough* totally didn't let their goose eat angel's trumpet...gah.
