I've opened it. The yolk was absorbed. It looks like a perfect little chick, just sleeping.

I was trying not to put any water near the beak because someone told me that might drown it.

She was panting, I just went out to feed the older chickens and water the garden, when I came back she'd died :-(

Definitely stopped breathing. I thought if her mouth was open she could breathe. I didn't even try to clear the nostrils :hit

The membrane over her nostrils is really stuck down hard. I assumed she could breath because her mouth was open. Was that not true? Did she maybe suffocate? :hit

Absolutely no movement. Even with me fiddling around with the membrane. I'm afraid she has died

No. I think she died :-(

Actually, it appears to have stopped moving. I can't see any movement at all. No breathing. Should I try picking it up?

Still look quite red to me... what do you think?

I'll keep watching her, but I feel like she has a much better chance now :-)

I've stopped, because whilst the top membrane had no veins, the second membrane is riddled with them. I've covered with coconut oil and put back in the incubator.

I'm peeling back one and there's another underneath..

It appears to have two membranes?? Is that possible?

And now put it back in the incubator?

I haven't broken shell all the way around in a "zip" line because it attaches to the membrane at the edge where I've stopped...
