Sounds good Miss Lydia. My drakes so far have shown no interest in my chickens but the chicks have 2 roosters that are on constant watch. I did put her in with my new girls and she promptly went to sleep. We'll see how they do over the next few days
Thank you Angel--- sounds like a good plan-- I am hoping to figure out the best way to intro the entire flock and keep my roosters off alert reaction too! lol
I have a free range duck flock consisting of 4 males and 1 female- 5 to 6 mos old- and my female has been laying for a few weeks at a minimum. Obviously this is a bit imbalanced and we wanted to level out the ranks a bit. As an added interest I have a 13 member chicken flock that also free...
I purchased my first two chicks as yellow fluffy girls---one was supposed to be a Tetra Brown the other a "Leghorn"--this is how they look now...any clues on their breed? They are Belina (Dark Red) and Dixie Chic (Light Red)
I've watched for that but not seen it so far and honestly my eye sight must be really cruddy because in person (not the camera) they look very similar...which surprised me when I had the photos on my screen!
Perfect----I can handle 100% sure! :woot
Thank you everyone!
We have two mallard ducklings. I am pretty certain that they are both different sexes but would like to get some opinions (in fact in photos I'm even more certain). I think Daisy is Duke and Duke is Daisy! But that's fine! I think our Duke may be the one showing on the top of the photos...
Since I have no opinion on the breed I will go with White Crested Polish for the win...very cute!! However...she reminds me of the young man my daughter had a mad crush on at age 12 (she is now 35 and recently confessed she knew his name)---James. I called him q-tip head. We beg to differ...
Oh wow.....our mystery baby stands OUT in the crowd for sure as she stands straight up---very upright!
Thank you so much! I took a look and that helped totally!
Thank you!! The TSC has not claimed runners but since they told me KC---I'm figuring they didn't know and they have them marked as 'assorted ducks'. They really are sweet and we are enjoying them along with our little mallard babies too....at least a runner type helps us feel better about...
Thank you---I'm pretty certain they are--not sure their gender but time will tell! We are so curious about our little Howard/Molina---she stands up straight as can be and has that kind of penguin stance---- ugh at first I thought she/he was sick, now I know she's just different!
