welp, my fiancé and I are taking the leap from just chickens, guinea hens, turkey, and ducks to getting 2 oberhasli goats 1 doeling 1 wether. going to go pick them out today and will be ready mid june... just wanted to share our excitement
awesome I agree with granny, just let them do their thing. Are all the eggs duck eggs? Some look much larger than others... maybe some are call duck eggs?
ugh I have cochins and some silkies so you know what that means... yep broodiness everywhere... My white silkie hatched out 5 cochin chicks 3 weeks ago so I just put her in the chicken run yesterday... they are fine and will be selling most of the chicks from that hatch... my black cochin just...
yeah I looked at the group pic quick the white ones I thought were porcelains but they don't have the feathered feet. Noticed it just now when I actually clicked on the picture lol... they could be some sort of oegb though
any flogging roo I've ever had has gone into the freezer... very difficult to break and honestly I don't want that temperament passed on to future generations
lol thank you for that. Yes, they certainly like to kill themselves quickly... started with 10 down to 7 as they kept flipping on their backs... I have them in a 6 foot long 5 foot wide 4 foot tall brooder so it should last them a bit... we've been getting lots of rain and cold days here in ny...
are you breeding them? looks like they may have something else mixed in because they are really lacking in feathering on the feet and the different skin color tells me something else is in there too.... all silkies have black skin and beaks and feet as I'm sure you're aware...
I have 45 cochin bantam eggs in my new incubator. I will post pics of the bator when I'm on break... I'm in love with this wooden incubator and should have better rates than with the old Styrofoam junk I had lol
