i was told it could be canker but i haven’t seen it before, it was treated with a tetracycline which is normally used, thank you for the articles i will use them
My chicken RJ - naked neck x white leghorn
she’s two years old bred from me
she’s just finished being broody but now she’s gasping to breathe and not eating, she also has an impacted crop.
its not canker as has been on medication and not helped
i have massaged her crop and it’s not moved, i...
1) this was how the crop felt when i found her this morning!
2) i try to get her drinking water but she won’t let me, i’ll try the coconut oil
3) she’s unable to peck though i’ll attach a video
4) i have massaged crop and it won’t budge, they do have oyster shell grit available at all times...
i’ve never had problems when hatching and this one took a while to get out of egg and not fully developed, i know it will die and it might be best if we let it pass on, but i was wondering why this has happened and what i can do to stop it happening in the future!
she’s 2 years old
transylvania naked neck x leghorn
she’s lethargic got a solid crop and breathing weirdly
i don’t think it’s impacted as it’s not big enough but i can feel all the food in it
i’m not sure what to do i’ve tried massaging her crop but i can’t find the blockage!
i have another rabbit hutch thing i can bring that down and put into the run and keep them separated during the day it’s just nights i don’t know what to do
what about when i’m putting them to bed do i put him in a separate house, they are down the allotment so i wouldent be able to watch them all day, does it always take this long??
hello,
i have a male and female muscovy (8 months) and i’m getting 2 new females on friday, they are 14 weeks old and i have been told i should separate the drake from the hens as he could kill them with mating?
i can’t imagine that being possible is this true and should i separate my drake...
she sounds lovely! i have one who whenever i enter the run comes rushing over too me and waits for me to sit on my stool and then jumps and falls asleep on my lap!
enjoy her she’s going to be pretty and lay some lovely eggs for you!
it could be anything! she may just be a slow grower, please leave the beak alone she’s got this far!! she may have been the one to hatch last, but keep an eye on her!
have ever wanted to do this with your cockerels wattles!
i filmed this today (he might not be impressed but i defiantly enjoyed it! video here!
his name is beefy tomato the wellsummer!
yes it’s a shame they will be pretty cockereles though? can you find homes for them? or can you keep,
you can tell because they have wattles and most hens won’t get them untill they are about 14 weeks!
