I ask because my first time broody is setting and i was counting the eggs to make sure she still had the same amount and had not stolen any more. i picked up one egg and as i was turning it over to look for my pencil mark, i could feel something go "plop" to the other end of the egg.....not real...
Are these eggs just a loss or is there a chance they will hatch?
I have always had a banty cochin be my broody and this is about a 18 month old Buff Orp. She gathered the eggs all up out of the different nest boxes and has been sitting on them about 5 days so far, but today and yesterday she...
And they they have stopped laying. Here is the summary:

I have a question......my broody has faithfully sat on all 11 eggs underneath her and i have 10 baby chicks ( had to help out 4 of them after 24 hours because of super thick shell and membrane...all are fine now) and she has one egg left......i did the float test and it floated as a viable...
i hate the wait i have a total of five chicks that have hatched now, with at least two more in the process....so far they all seem to have the pea combs but bright yellow eggs....3 of them are definite chipmuncks in coloration with one being just a mottled brownish red color and one being...

I am hoping my chickens survive this!! They are at our land about 3 miles from our house, i locked them in the coop last night with plenty of food and water. no electricity out there at all, and i so i put the deep litter all around the black rubber water bowl hoping to insulate it. i definitely...

One of my EE's started laying yesterday and this is her first egg. Would this be considered an Olive Egg?
At the top are three Welsummer eggs, to the left are a couple of my Production Red eggs and the bluish ones are from my other EE's.
