Yeah that’s how much we dosed the chickens. Everyone else is doing alright, if not, better than before the dosage started. There were just issues among 3 of them where 2 died and one looks like it’s struggling to breathe. One died unexpectedly, another looked sick and was struggling to breathe...
Yeah that makes sense.
The chickens with the puffy face are acting normal, just have swollen faces (it has gotten better with the tylan50 though)
The chickens that are breathing abnormally look like they are struggling to breathe: gasping and elongating the neck with each breath. One of them...
I didn’t notice anything within that time period, but I noticed my chickens face was swollen on July 1st (dropped them off on June 18th). When I visited on June 25th, I didn’t notice anything unusual. The chickens that were breathing abnormally were not apart of my flock.
Hey all!
A few weeks ago I relocated my chickens to a new area with a new flock in foster care (waiting on my coop to be built). Anyways, my chickens endured a long drive and changes in weather. Once they arrived, I noticed my bantams face was swelled up. I made a post here and was told it was...
Does the tylan50 ensure the chicken gets better? The swelling seemed to have gone down, should I be worried about it coming back or infecting other members of the flock?
Okay thank you! I wasn’t sure because a worker at Tractor Supply said Corid would work better than Tylan, but on Google it said otherwise.
How long should I give the Tylan to the sick chickens?
Hey all!
My favorite hen HeiHei is looking a bit funny in the face. I’m unsure of what the problem is and my Google searches come up empty. But her eyes almost look swollen, her face changes from really red to pale, and she keeps falling asleep when I hold her. She almost looks sleep deprived...
What should I do about the scab area? I currently have a antimicrobial poultry spray on it which is covered by a band aid (the chicken is a difficult one and keeps trying to eat her scabs and I didn’t want her pecking at the scab and bone)
Hey all,
Last month my chicken broke her wing. I believe it was an attack of some sort. Not having a vet nearby that helps chickens, my mom and I tried healing her wing ourselves. Which for the most part, it worked. No infections whatsoever and the feathers she lost during the attack grew back...
Hey all,
My flock was attacked sometime this morning. We aren’t sure by what, but it took the life of one of our girls and left another injured. She’s still eating, drinking, and moving and you wouldn’t even have noticed if we didn’t see blood. But she has an area missing a ton of feather and a...
Hey all! I live in the Chicago area and on Wednesday and Thursday, it’s supposed to be below -50 (with windchill and everything). I have trapped my entire coop, put extra bedding in the coops, have two heating walls in one coop, and I have 7 chickens and 1 bantam. Should I do anything else to...
