    Dog injured my Hen

Our dog bit my hen around the head area. One eye is shut. The other is open and reacting to light. She had cuts on her comb that stopped bleeding. She also had some swelling to her face where her nostrils are with blood tinged mucus drainage. this happened four days ago. I brought her inside...

    Narcoleptic Chicken?

I have 12 chicks ranging from 13-15 weeks. The biggest of them all is a bit strange. She falls asleep instantly and tucks her head to her chest or lays with her head on the ground. Then she jumps up and walks off normally. Her feathers are not messy and she eats and drinks very well. There's no...

    Pull or Roo?

Hi everyone. I'm back with more pics of my flock. They are about 9-10 weeks old at this point. I have 3 different breeds and they seem to be doing very well together. Any idea what breed/sex the lighter gray ones are? They have black unfeathered feet. The English laced Orpingtons sex? And I...

I have no idea what I am doing

Wow! This feed reads like a soap opera. I have to get ready for work and I can't stop reading to see if the baby has hatched! Omg! I agree with @OneOleBiddy about there being a shortage of people who care enough. But there still are some good ones out there. I hope the little duck lives a long...

Hello all. Was wondering if anyone has any idea about the breed or if a roo or pulley. They are almost 2 weeks today. I have 3 dark ones with whitish underbelly and dark feet and legs. They are more skiddish than my others. This one is larger than all of them. Thank you all in...

The first pipper hatched this morning at 900am he was on the wrong side of the egg too. He kicked and turned over another one that was zipping and he asfixiated. The third hatched all on its own and happened in just a few just hours. The fourth is taking his sweet little time. 4 babies out of 5...

I have a baby that pipped in the incubator @12am this morning but has not progressed any at all and it's almost 4 pm. I hear chirping and he is moving around in there. How much longer do you guys think before the hatch completes? They are 20 days today. I'm a newbie here. Any help is appreciated.

1 egg pipped last night but hasn't hatched.

This is day 20, my eggs are on lockdown. Last night at 12am I noticed a pip. It hasn't progressed much at all. This morning I noticed the chick is peeping a lot. The other eggs are moving around a lot with no pips yet. So excited and hopeful.

Incubating questions! First time chicken momma.

Hi I have what may seem like a silly question. I began incubating my eggs on the 25th of March. Do I count day 1 from the 26th? Or is the 25th day 1? I just want to be sure what exact day to lockdown and not turn my eggs anymore. Thank you all in advance. I have learned so much about chickens...

    Funny/Sad/Happy stories of your chickens

When I was about 7 years old we had a rooster and a black Tom cat who would sleep together, share cat food, play hide and seek, and wrestled. The rooster would hide in a tree branch and would jump on the cat' s back as he walked by. This went on all day everyday. In the mornings my mom would let...
