    Virgin Mary chicken?

Hi everyone, Is this egg fertile? We’ve raised chickens before and had some that we ended up hatching so I know about the “bullseye” on fertile eggs. We only have two hens now that just started laying and I swear that this egg has the fertile halo around it! Input please :)

    Free range or enclosed run?

I was wondering your opinions on letting your chickens be free ranged or keeping them in an enclosed run. I’ve heard that free ranged keeps them quieter because they have more to do but also that an enclosed run makes them quieter because they feel safer. Is one better than the other? Any...

    Could they be sex-linked?

Our chicks supposedly are Bantam Golden Laced Wyandotte (cockerel) and Rhode Island Red (pullet) mixes. Could they be sex-linked? Because we find it strange that we got 4 black chicks and 4 gold chicks. :D

help on gender and breed :)

We got chickens for the first time ever and they happened to have fertile eggs. So we bought an incubator and so far it's been a 100% hatch rate (2 more to go in a couple of days). But does anyone know if their colors are possibly an indicator of their gender? The 2 moms are Rhode Island Reds...
