I've got 25 meaties to butcher and I've already decided I'm going with skinning vs. plucking. It's just me and I don't have the patience or the time to pluck. Can anyone suggest ideas for cooking these birds other than just using the crockpot? I'm afraid of the skinless meat drying out. Any...
I've been following the 12 on/12 off feeding program until now--chicks are exactly 4 weeks old, all males. I'm needing to put in a few more hours at work, would there be any harm in pulling feed after 10 hours? There is no light or heat in their coop, so they'd basically only be in daylight...
I ordered 25 CX cockarels from Welp hatchery about a month ago. They shipped on Weds. as scheduled & arrived this morning(Friday). Sent along 2 extras, and all are healthy & kicking. Kudos also to the local USPS office also... requested an early call, and the phone rang at 5:30 this morning...

I'm getting my birds from Welp(first time w/ broilers), and they suggest 20-22% starter for the first 5 weeks, then switching to 18% grower. I have easy access to cheaper(25% cheaper) unmedicated 18% starter/grower. Can I just feed this the entire time?

I would have to weight the hens, but I know they are chunky and all my hens, once they start laying well (from Pullet stage) lay at least 6 days a week. I have some that even keep laying 3-4 days a week during molt. I will weigh tomorrow and post.
Thanks
