    I feed them Diatamacious earth in their food as well as letting them free range all day. They also get lots of vegetables and fruit, I have never had this happen to me before it is very strange. She drank water and seemed like she was ok it was just that her heart was racing really fast.

    Thank you! When the babies first discovered water, my hen freaked! She clucked and clucked telling them it was danger and to stop swimming but the ducks just looked at her seemingly to say "Why don't you come in?" LOL

    Making a Planter FOR my chickens - what would you plant?

    I have a little garden for my chickens and ducks ( just for them ) I plant Swiss chard, lettuce ( any kind ) tomatoes, cabbage, and peas. I fence it off from them until the plants start growing enough to hold up against the chicken frenzy. They love it!

    I have a couple of Silkies who have hatched some ducks for me and they are wonderful mothers considering they are a chicken and the babies are ducks, but they do really well! I was wondering if anyone else has done this before?
