    The Wyandotte Thread

From what I understand the desired wyandotte tail is shaped like a tee pee. The bunny tail is shaped like a horse shoe. Photos of your birds from the rear would help determine if they do have a bunny tail. Someone with more experience on here might be able to tell if they have the proper tail...

    Golden Laced Wyandotte Thread!

Good luck finding that out!! All my wyandottes have laid brown eggs and sometimes with the little dark spots. I have had Blue laced red and Sliver laced and golden laced Wyandottes. I also had Colombian wyandottes years ago. Maybe post a photo of the egg in question :)

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Those are both BLRW the top bird has black lacing in the front but I see blue lacing in the wings and tail. Both are blue laced red wyandottes. I would call them pet quality and you should get tasty eggs from the hen :) The bottom is most definitely a rooster. Good luck with them!!

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I've been hatching BLRW for a few years now. I've probably hatched close to 1000 if not more... I've never found a good way to sex my wyandottes at all. I've tried feather sexing and it didn't work at all. So unless the seller can vent sex I'm sure you have a straight run. So you should...

    The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

I've had a few of mine do this yes. But the spots are not to dark not in anyway like a marans. I enjoy my Wyandottes because the eggs aren't always just plain old brown I get some lighter pinkish eggs and the spotted ones sometimes. But the majority lay a light brown egg.

Let's talk Cuckoo and WHITE marans... breeding strategies...

My regular cuckoo marans hen is about 7 months old and my GCMs are about 6 months old. I really don't know who laid those eggs but I'm wondering if my cuckoo hen could even lay such HUGE eggs like that 2 days in a row. I didn't even know my GCMs where laying so its a mystery!!

Let's talk Cuckoo and WHITE marans... breeding strategies...

I'm not to sure if these HUGE eggs where laid by my cuckoo marans hen or my Golden Cuckoo Marans Hens. I have 1 regular cuckoo and 9 GCMs so I'm thinking it was maybe the GCMs since I got one yesterday and one today. THey are HUGE!! My eggs scale couldn't weigh them. So they weigh over 2.5oz...

    The Wyandotte Thread

I do think heat does affect fertility in chickens. But I think that the SLW fertility problem is deeper then just heat related. The best fertility I had with my SLW was 30% and that was in mild summer weather. I started hatching as early as January here in 2012. Of course my first few hatches...

Barred Rocks Good Shepard Poulty Ranch

I purchased some BRs from Jeremy. And I just LOVE them! Not even one died and I have 5 roosters and 9 hens! I can't believe my luck!! THANKS Jeremy! I hope to put photos up soon but the roosters are still in the half unfeathered ugly stage. They have such beautiful barring :)

Its also really good organic meat for my family. A crock pot is a chicken breeders best friend!!!

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

This is good advice!! My Wyandotte roosters are very tasty at 18 weeks... If you plan on raising and breeding chickens its almost a must to be able to butcher unwanted roosters... Just something to think about.
