since you have been thru so many winters how do you keep your water from not freezing in the autowater things that I have to fill everymorning?

Yeah, Im looking into getting like Bjurholm right now. Google them, they have a really interesting history. And they are pretty small and grew up in kinda 4/6 north in sweden(dalarna) so their breed is kinda resistant to cold

Yeah, Im looking into swedish hens so I have hens that can take the climate.

Thats like every day of the swedish winter where I live, Im gonna have a portable coop so I can probaby slide it in under some trees or into my shed to keep the snow of them at least. Do hens dig themself down into wood shavings when it gets abit cold?

And I wonderd if it would be enough for me to have just a heating plate that im gonna have for the water so it doesnt freeze during the to keep the coop where they sleep hot enough during the winter nights. Im gonna have vents for the coop that I can open and close for when its cold and hot.

I may have to spend alittle extra and buy my chicks online. I just wonder if sites like mypetchicken would ship to sweden and the chickens would be alive wheb they come to me.
