We have an auto door on one and while it works it’s a pain and
We have a large coop with attached run that houses 12 chickens but some sleep in the run on perches (the run is 8x8x8). The other coop houses 8 with 8x8x4’H run. One of the coops has an automatic door that works good but has been a...
We have the Omlet set up with 8 in "pipes" which as I look at them, I realize they are too small. I found a really great option for pre-fab tunnels in the UK that I am very excited about.

These are 20 in tall, 10 in...
We have 2 large coops and runs. One coop has a automatic door. We would like to connect the coops with a Omlet tunnel that is typically used for bunny’s. We have this set up for our rabbits and they love it. I just don’t know if anyone has used the tunnel for chickens or if it is big enough?
Update on Fat Belly! She is still with us!! She keeps mostly to her coop but has a good appetite & poops a lot. Her belly is still swollen but she acts fine. We put her out in the yard by herself and she waddles back to her coop. We recently added another chicken that was getting picked on too...
@Saaniya
Thank you so much for asking! She is waddling around and much more active. We are moving her to a coop by the house so she will have her own close to us. She’s eating and pooping and isn’t laying. Her belly is still shrinking but she still walks like a penguin and with her legs far...
2 week update. She’s still has a fat belly but I think it is becoming more liquidy..(not a word, but you get it). Eating like a pig and pooping normal white/black semi formed with some mucas. I went ahead and gave her another calcium citrate with D3. I just broke the tablet and give it to her...
In the photos you can see she starts off standing like a chicken but the longer she stands the more upright like a peguin she becomes. Her belly is still not normal, but it is shrinking. Thank you for caring. Each day sees improvements
Update: Gave her her injection of Baytril. The doctor did not even provide a diagnosis.
This morning she was very gabby and moving around a lot more. So, I tried to reintroduce her. Sometimes, chickens can be such jerks! Jersey and Dixie Chick were not having it. Chased her. She faught back a...
Later today...
She’s down 2.5 inches. I’ve been giving her Lincocin & Zydaclin. Will be switching to baytril tomorrow. Haven’t integrated her with the flock yet. Her coop is heated and freshly manintained and I’m worried the others will pick on her. I’m also worried about minitoring her intake...
Update! She’s hanging in there. Still eating and pooping. Vet just got back to me today!!He thinks it’s a mass or an infection, he really can’t tell. Prescribed some Baytril to pick up tomorrow. Fingers crossed. ❤️❤️Thanks everyone for the kinds words.
@Melky
Thank you for the suggestions. I’m sure there are lots of people who would pay it. We have 22 chickens, 2 donkey, 2 Llama’s, 2 goats, 2 rabbits and 4 dogs..I feel like we put our Vets kids through college! This is our first time we have let $$ be part of the consideration but we do have...
@Melky
$1500...Surgery is out of the question. We could not justify paying that for a chicken. Understand it MAY be the only solution but time will tell.
Agree with @rebrascora! Awesome post @Eggcessive!! Not only that...but love the name too!!
I will put her back with the flock soon. Just monitoring her “bodily functions” and was worried as I don’t have a diagnosis.
Thanks everyone!
My husband is not in the frame of mind for implants or $1000 surgery. We love all our pets but also have to apply some limits to our emotional responses.
@rebrascora, wow! Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge. It is awesome to have have such valuable resources. @Saaniya, thank you so...
