We introduced the new chicks (Aussie loops) at 20 weeks to the flock like we always do, put them in there in the middle of the night in the henhouse. This always worked in the past for us… but this time it did not work! They ran out at dusk, and have not been backin! They’re sleeping by the...

Ducks won't eat oyster shells and the eggs are getting thin

My ducks shells were getting soft too. I put out oyster shells in a pan also mixed with their food. I also give them 1/2 cup of mealworms and dry puppy food. We throw in the pond. Which they love! Both are high in protein and calcium. It seems like the shells are getting better.

Guinea fowl be raise with chickens?

We have 9 18 week old guineas that live next door to our 30 chickens and 2 Rosters. A guinea keeps flying over to the chicken side. It is getting crazy to keep having to catch her and put her back. We are thinking of just taking the fence between all of them? Any advise?

No no no! We put a fence around the pond and raked it to make sure there are no turtles in there. They are safe there just not with the others.

[k QUOTE="A_Fowl_Guy, post: 21107919, member: m531928"]Could be rats or even your own chicken. I’d place a trail cam in the coop and see what it catches. Maybe a rat
