Ok so there's this drunk guy in front of the store, homeless who says he sat next to this bird for hours on end, that the birds been in the corner and a cat almost got him. I took him home, he is not eating. Tried to force his mouth open, gave him food and he didn't chew it. Would love to put...

Good info, thanks. We will trim his spurs then, I'll check out the articles when the time comes. Looks like we can keep him then. He gets much worse when we yell at him, I don't do it anymore but did a few times at first and it was pretty clear it was backfiring LOL

Thank you, I looked them up. He looks like one, and their spurs are real long like blades. I don't want to get hit with those blade things, so I'll try to tame him but it's doubtful he will stop attacking, at least part of the time. I am concerned he is a rare bird that if I give him to...
Hello all. Is this a normal Rhode Island Red Rooster or who is part Game?
He is 1 yr old, stands alot taller than all of our other full size chickens. He attacks us sometimes, spurs are growing but not complete
I hand feed him, and I pet him then jumps down to go back to the Coop for bed. I...
A bad chicken killed the two babies, only one egg left and I heard peeping last night about 2am. I am worried the chick won't hatch by tonight, is it ok? I don't hear peeping anymore, it is under its Mama. But the other chicken could have stepped on it (it visually looks fine) when it killed...
If not, get a heating lamp or a lamp with a regular bulb (not florescent, they are not warm) and a thermometer. Make sure it is placed in a box with a light above to keep it about 95 degrees while they are young. If they are like chickens, they get cold easily. A heating pad set on low would...
do you have a dropper? You can feed him a little water, maybe he is too weak to drink. Also if he will drink this way, you can buy some antibiotics from the feed store real quick to give him in the water. Sorry he is so sick, poor thing
An egg from one of our wild bantys is making noise, a peeping sound and tapping its beak on the outer shell. Or at least that seems like what is happening. Does anyone know how old this chick could be?
Thanks so much
ok so I heard one peeping. It must have a beak because it was tapping against the egg so I decided to put it under its mother in the Coop. I think it will survive. Temp is down to low, thermometer says 99
She is safe and seems happy in the coop in the nesting box. She has some privacy, in the corner. Here are the extra eggs, I have only one real light bulb (not the fake florescent) and they are on a heating pad I put up to high. I'll keep checking temp, who knows maybe they will hatch...

Yes I have that too, a pet carrier she can be in. that is better than putting her in the Coop with the chickens? They are safe there, and they enter a 5x5 fenced area until I let them out. It is fenced here, but it is only 4 ft high.
I could bring her inside the house too inside the...
If I touch her, she will peck hard at me which is fine. But if we touch the babies, will she refuse to sit on them in the Coop? She doesn't normally go to bed in the Coop, someone gave her to us and she has refused to sleep there no matter what we do/ We have trained all the others to go there...
