I hatched out my 1st batch of chooks on Easter and started using mama heating pad for the 1st time with that batch of 22 babies. I was SO impressed with how much they liked it. Never going back. Great idea to the original poster and Blooie for sharing with us.

These 2 im gonna call Oops and Whoopsie...they were in the feed store and i felt bad i only kept 2 of my Easter babies so i got these 2 silver lace Wyandotte to go with my backyard mix chicks...because chicken math says i couldn't get just one of course. Lol.

Mixed flocks here too. Buff orpington, leghorn bantam, splash laced red Wyandottes, easter eggers, bantam cochins... LOL love them all

Hello all. Ihave a bantam cochin baby who is about 4 or 5 weeks old and i just noticed a couple days ago her chest is super puffed up and filled with air (like a tiny balloon) the spot is off to the side a bit so i dont think its her crop. The spot is also mostly bald...They have been drinking...

Are bantams super chill? I got 4 this weekend and they are always asleep when i look at them and they have been eating and drinking but not as much as i expect... Their peeps are so tiny too. I assume its just because they areso small?

I think these will be a week old on Wednesday and they still mostly just sleep?? I know theyve been eating and drinking too since they have made messes around the stuff but every time i lookat them they are all just sleeping in a pile. Maybe i just dont remember this stage or are bantams just...

Oh well they moved on and i haven't seen or had to deal with them... My only thought with them being someones pets is this is the country and they should have secured them better when they got em.
