I got Ophelia at a feed store at 2 weeks old and the kid didn't have a clue what breed she was. She's now got very little black stuffs around her face. Any idea what she's mixed with? She also has ashy green legs.
These little babies are now all dark red and black so i beleive they are a production red mix of some kind.. My only worry with them now is that one is WAY larger then the other. Comb size and color are about the same though, they eat the same, play and sleep just about the same. Is it possible...
Hello, I hope this is allowed on this thread... I am moving and need to down size my flock.. :( I have 2 black australorps male and female about 20 weeks old I have had since they were babies they are very sweet but I can't have roosters where Im going just hens and these two are very attached...
I found my 5 month old barred rock Lola had gotten into the shed where there are millions of things she could of eaten :( she was sitting ontop of a cabinet with her mouth open and i could hear her weezing. She has never done this before. She was fine about 20 minutes before I caught her in...
I've been looking into the seabright breed and I think they are so adorable and I would love to add 2 to my flock to make it complete but im worried my big girls will pick on them due to their size.. Has anyone mixed these in with thier big girls? I currently have 3 Br's 2 black australorps and...

I know its not close to 8 weeks and theres a filter stuck on this camera i can't seem to take off but i thought i would show how cute they're coming out to be! I love the colors they're starting to show..
This was the only photo she was standing still long enough to not be a blur... The...
Okay thank you! I will be keeping my eye on that then. Named them carmela and mocha because they reminded me of little coffee beans, but after reading some more EE threads i feel like i will need to do some renaming. Especially if mocha is a boy.
What exactly gives you a hint? Do the boys tend to be darker? The caramel ones feathers are also growing a bit faster but not to much ofna difference... Which had me worried because thats how i could tell my australorp was a roo early on. His sisters had tail feathers for about 1 1/2 weeks...
The ride home with them was very cold, so it may have been the temps. They has been less chatty since being in their brooder. And alright i wasn't sure if there was a way of sexing EE's this early but thought i would try! I will post updated photos in a few weeks (:
Got these babies from a local feed store... They are so cute but by the far the loudest babies I've ever brought home. They were supposed to be guarantee pullet easter eggers. But that same feed store is also where i got my little surprise roo. I've decided to only keep cookie and no other...
This past friday my dog got a hold of my beloved sophia and shook her like a toy :( she died. She had 2 siblings who were also about 4 weeks old. Now im left with one pullet and one cockerall and even though he's young he's Mean. And i feel as if my small girl is depressed since her sister died...
