Still all ok, Smash still looks tired and wobbly, but drinking a bit and hobbling. Haven’t seen it ear but it had a bit of a peck at crumble. Eyes still half closed and sleepy. Could it be sick from an infection ?

I had then in the incubator for a few hours tonight and saw some improvement. Fed water and a bit of egg yolk. Still very wobbly. When dark I put them in the chicken tractor with the other chick, popped mum in and all three under her now. Here’s hoping. Like the idea of hatching myself, will...

SH*T. Got home, the other chick is half hatched, half of shell smashed and dirty and cold. One hatched this morning not well at all.... I don't know if it will make it. Mum got out of the rabbit hutch with her two day old baby and I am guessing rejected the other two. So this mornings hatching...

Has anyone made them? I’ve had success with bought ones but supplier won’t respond to my email and think I would save more making my own.

Helped hatch 6am this morning, was shrink wrapped but all is well! Yay! Veins all dried up, left egg shell with umbilical cord attached, but chick is not stuck to any membrane. Popped under mum so hope it recovers well and I have a happy fluffy chick when I get home!

3.30am and definitely peeping!! No pipping yet but it’s chirping so yay

Checked again tonight, the ‘pyramid shadow’ is larger and almost panting in movement, there is ‘clicking’, and I swear I heard peeping...
