I have 3 potbellied piglets that we pulled last night, they are 4 1/2 weeks old. Boys go tomorrow to be neutered. So far Ive not seen them eat or drink. They were rooting for food with mom but are pretty freaked out when I come near them. You can hold them and they will cuddle up but coming...
Last year I raised about 20 or so chicks myself and then ended up buying a couple from a breeder that were around the same age. Her chicks were almost double the size of mine. What in the world am I doing wrong? When they are tiny they go in the little coop, once they are a safe size they...
They are b complex. They taste good so I might be able to just feed them to her.
I just asked the vet and she said liquid is better because you can be sure she gets what she needs...
I havent gotten the vitamins yet... Getting them today. Question, tho. The picture says sublingual. Do I have to inject her? Is there anything oral I can give her instead? I'd rather not inject unless I have to. I have plenty of diabetic type syringes so thats not an issue.
She's at least 6 months old, she wasn't like this when she was younger. Always was a little clumsier than the others but didn't develop the water circles or the weird neck until about a month ago. Still a vitamin def?
I have a pekin that doesnt look quite right. Siblings are fine and normal but she stumbles a lot, doesnt seem steady on her feet, has water circles under her eyes and even holds her neck curved (the others are normal, holding their heads up when walking). She will even float lower in the...
Im a little worried that my girls have been laying for way too long. I have a Pekin and a Muskovy both on nests. I checked all of their eggs and all of the Muscovys look to be fertile, about half of the Pekin's were bad. I removed the bad eggs. My best guess is the Pekin started her nest...
Well, I lost her last night. She was doing SO good, had gained weight and was trying to stand. Eating a LOT, really getting active. And then Sat she just crashed, stopped eating, refused everything. I even tried a dropper and she was completely miserable. I held her last night and she was...
Hmm, I might try that. She is a lot more active and eats more when I mess with her. She would probably like to be up in a sling. Im going to have to research this and see what she does. She is very interested in her surroundings and is still eating and drinking with gusto.
Is there...
no, I didnt find out until after I got everyone home and about a month went by. That was in Dec, I believe. I saw a post about her selling her MS positive flock and I freaked. She said this was the "clean" flock and that they had always been separate.
Well, shes still alive. Shes eating and drinking, still acting like she has no balance tho. She moves around the basket and is alert and talkative. Praying that she pulls thru this. If I have any dead ones I plan on sending them off for a necropsy. I'll keep you all up dated on her progress.
yeah, I know. after I took that video I put her on a towel to take another one but she refused to walk after that like that was all she had to give. I'm going to try to take another one tonight and see if there is any improvement.
Alright, I might have uncovered a little more. It turns out this lady I bought the hens from had a flock of MS positive birds. She said these were from the "clean" flock and were not affected. I should have passed on the birds since she had MS on the farm. Do you guys think this girl is a...
