6 hens, will only use one nesting box

I have 6 hens and a nice small coop with 2 nesting boxes. All 6 hens will only lay in one of the 2 boxes. Box boxes are identical and I am not sure if I should care about this at all. They seem to just want to poop in the other box. Wow, chickens poop alot.

Can I butcher and eat a Dominique rooster?

I have a year os so old Dominique rooster who is VERY noisy. I am wondering if he would make a tasty snack rather than find a new home. He is well fed and well.

    Building up my first coop

Yeah, my buddy does gutters, I had considered that. It will not be a big deal. I could always make the door on the side, I have gone no further thus far.

    Building up my first coop

I do not think so. I have been wrong before though. If it is a problem I'll do plywood and linoleum.

    Building up my first coop

If it proves to be a problem maybe I'll throw up a gutter or put down gravel.

    Building up my first coop

I am going to go another route to save weight. I am going to use luan boar for the sides and tyvek it. Then I will do siding over top. I am probably going to do the top with 1/2" plywood and use a pneumatic staple gun to attach shingles. The bottom is probably going to be aluminum, possibly...
