these are my Easter Eggers, the red one hasn't layed eggs in a while tho, I was hoping to get some chicks from her this year, but all the chicks where white, so non of them where from her :hmm but I'm getting some fertile eggs next year from a breeder that has more colors than me, already exited...
I think this is a pullet if she’s 5 month old, the comb and wattle aren’t that much red for that age of rooster. So I say pullet
Also if this was a rooster it would have more white in its wings like this one
Just wondering, I have always had 2 silkie roosters, but one of them just past away 2 days ago.
now I have just one rooster with 12 hens, is that okey, can he ferile all the eggs alone or should I get another rooster ? 🤔😊.
I own brahma chickens, and there was a girl asking me if there similar in size to broiler chickens......I have never seen or owned broiler chickens, so I have no idea how big they are. anyone that knows the size diffrents between brahmas and broilers?
so these 2 sisters are easter egger silkie cross. there was one person asking if I could sell them chicks from them and the father would be silkie rooster.
I'm curios, would the silkie feathers then come back on some chicks? or would they all still be smooth?
anyway I am going to hatch some out...
I also made this cross, there mom was a red easter egger hen, and there dad was a silver silkie rooster. 3 eggs hatched and one of them was a silver rooster and the other 2 are these 2 beautiful sisters.
I still own them and they are great egg layers, there eggs are green and not much...
I bought 3 hens that look like this, they where in the color cuckoo and had a big crest on there head. very pretty, 2 of them laid olive green eggs and the other one laid brown egg. I was told they where a mix of cream legbar and cuckoo Maran :)
I own a brahma rooster and a easter egger rooster and a rooster that was supposed to be cream legbar, but is probably olive egger.
then I have few breeds of hens, light Sussex, brhama, Easter Eggers, hens that where supposed to be cream legbars, hey look like cream legbar but lay olive green...
how does sizzle breeding work again?
I own 2 buff coloured pekin bantam frizzle hens, and I also own silkies, I want to breed my hens to my silkie rooster to get frizzle. I know most of the chicks will be smooth and some will be frizzle.
but I been thinking if I then breed there offspring...
thanks, what I call aggressive chicken is when a chicken kills another chicken or injures it badly, like my lohmann hens just gang up on these 4 hens. they grew up with 3 of them so this was not some hen I just added to the flock, these hens had been living with them since they hatched out. one...
