    Coop Size

Did you build your own coop? What did you end up spending on material if you don't mind me asking?

    Coop Size

Do you remember where you found those DIY plans? I'm all for simple as my husband and I aren't builder savvy and I'd honestly probably put it together myself as my husband doesn't have time and isn't into the whole chicken thing.

    Colorado

Hello my fellow Coloradans! I was wondering if you all knew of a place I can go other than Craigslist or an expensive place like Murdochs to find a coop? I've got six chickens and four of them are three weeks and getting bigger everyday. I need to have the coop ready for when it's time to put...

    Coop Size

So I've got six chicks and they're growing like weeds. They're going to need to go out to their coop soon but I'm not sure how big of a coop to get. I'll need one with a decent size run as well but don't want to spend a fortune on a coop. My husband isn't builder savy but also is to busy to...

    Chicks getting used to us

So I've been holding my two week old chicks as much as possible. I brought them home a week and a half ago and they still seem jumpy and scared. Is there anything special that I need to do or is this normal. I read that the more you hold them the more used to us they get. Any advice is appreciated!

    From Brooder to?

Thank you so much! We raised the heat lamp when they hit two weeks yesterday and will continue to weekly. I also think I'm going to start turning the light off for a few hours during the day as well. We will have the coop setup soon so it's ready when they go out but I appreciate the tips very much!

    From Brooder to?

Thank you! We've got the heat lamp on them and each week we raise it a little more to bring the temp down. I think I might take your advice and start turning the heat lamp off for a little bit during the day. I live in Colorado and yes we are going into spring. Right now the temps during the day...

    From Brooder to?

So I've got my four chicks inside their brooder that I made when we brought them home. They're now two weeks and growing like weeds. I purchased a book for first time chicken owners and it says that they shouldn't be put outside in their coop until they're five months or so. Is this true? My...

    Hello I’m Stephanie

I'm also brand new to chicken raising! My husband also was not thrilled but I've been wanting to do this for awhile. We got our chicks a week ago and they are two weeks old. I'm pretty excited as our my kids and I think this will be a fun little family thing we can do together!
