So I thought it was bumblefoot

Will all bumbles scab up? How many days should I continue the soak? I manipulated it a bit and couldn't feel any nodule. I can't see any core to remove at this time, but will keep an eye out for it when I soak it and do dressing changes. Thanks again!

So I thought it was bumblefoot

Here are the pics of the right foot (none from the top as no apparent abnormalities). I think the "crease" in her foot is where I picked at it last night with forceps (never bled) before deciding maybe it's not a scab but more of a callous. She has the same sort of thing on her other foot. I...

So I thought it was bumblefoot

I'll definitely do the pics from now on. Should have thought of that to begin with.

So I thought it was bumblefoot

I will try and get a picture(s) of it tomorrow morning after I've unwrapped it and soaked it again. Thanks so much for responding to my thread.

    Bumblefoot

I'm interested in your bumblefoot question. I have a hen with the same issue - limping, but no scab. I've also posted, but will also follow your post.

So I thought it was bumblefoot

I have a hen that started limping a few days ago. I checked her leg and couldn't feel any abnormalities and she didn't seem to mind me checking it, so I confined her in a kennel thinking she had strained something. So I came on here today and decided it could be bumblefoot. I looked at her foot...

Found a bit of blood in chicks' box

I found the dose as 2 tsp/gallon in several older posts, so I made it up and put it in their waterer. I'm actually using 1/tsp/quart since it needs to be made fresh every day. Is there something more I should be doing?

Found a bit of blood in chicks' box

I just want to confirm that I'm doing the right thing. Picked up 5 chicks yesterday at farm store; about 2 weeks old (few feathers). Noticed tonight a rare amount of blood in the straw. All 5 are very active eating/drinking and after checking bottoms, can't see diarrhea or blood on any of...

    Excited!

Just ordered 15 RIRs female chicks for delivery mid-April! My dear husband said I could not leave chicks with him when I go for an out-of-town visit to grandbabies in early April. I suppose watching 13 hens, 6 equines, cows, diabetic dog and cats are probably enough. Plus, these are really going...

Hello from 7600 ft. in Colorado

Hi from southern Colorado. I live at 7600 ft. and will not be seeing warm spring weather until the middle of May. We started with chickens 2 years ago when we bought some 2 year old hens from a friend of friend; they were a mixture of RIRs and Americanas (sp?). We added 6 gold sex-linked pullets...
