Ha yes I guess so! They didn't know what they were, they told me they were white so I assumed leghorns. Then I saw them said "uh oh" haha.

I was given some chicks that are said to be not quite 3 weeks old. They have no idea what they are (it's a long story involving a school project). When they arrived with them I immediately thought they appeared to be broilers, they are huge! Any thoughts? Thank you!
Yes it does have some white barring on it's neck and chest. The rest is solid black.

I did just pick up 6 more today from a local Agway, some Silvery Wyandotte's to go with my Golden's :-)
I am not sure of the breed, as I said what we ordered from Tractor Supply was not at all what we got. My "Orpingtons" turned out to be Cornish crosses (I've raised meat birds before and it wasn't at all what I wanted). And yes they are 6, almost 7 weeks. The age I am certain of, but not the breed

So this is my first time raising chicks and so far they've all been healthy....though not what we thought they were (Thanks Tractor Supply) 5 of the chicks we ordered that were supposed to be Orpingtons...well they're me at birds!
