My husband brought home EIGHT when one of his friends ran over their nesting area. We’ve had them in the incubator at 100 average with 55-60 humidity (my incubator is amazon garbage). This morning they all pipped but one and they’re zipping pretty quick. I’m planning on trying to push them off...
Thanks ya’ll! I found a breeder in Indiana but apparently they just decided to sell all their aylesbury stock last year, and stromberg’s doesn’t carry them anymore. I don’t know if I can take the step to attempt to import, that sounds difficult. I may have to wait and see if a few show up at an...
I’m looking to branch out from laying ducks to meat ducks and I have my heart set on Aylesbury. Does anyone know where in this world, hopefully in the U.S., that I can find a few? I’ve searched all over online, I’ve asked around at feed stores and auctions, but I always just end up with people...
I make whatever I feel like making that day, post it online, and if anyone is interested then they message me and come over and buy it. It’s a very small business, I only do about 12-15 orders a week.
I have five drakes I need to find new homes for. They are friendly, and very beautiful. I have one Welsh Harlequin and four Khaki Campbells. They’re still fairly young, about four months old. I love them so much but they’re starting to get aggressive with each other so I need to find new homes...
I called them about two years ago but I never heard anything else about it, it may be time to do it again. Our animal control is pretty underfunded, I’m not sure if they’ll be able to do much though
Oh, it doesn’t do any good, I’ve been telling them to keep their dogs on their side of the road for years and they never have. They have three huge half starved Great Danes that come in my yard constantly. Normally I love Great Danes, I’m not prejudiced against any kind of dog, but they treat...
Sorry I didn’t upload a video, my neighbor’s dog tried to get into the coop and I’ve spent the last two days trying to fix the hole and dog proofing the rest of it. These guys have put me through the loop!
I lost him on the way to the farm rescue. They never got back with me so I just decided to take him there to see if anyone was there who could help but he didn’t make it.
It’s possible, it’s kind of hard to tell the khakis apart right now and there’s six of them, he had a slight limp for a day and then was walking normally, and then his leg went completely out. When he sits his leg doesn’t go under him, it’s splayed to the side from the hip. If it’s dislocated...
This is
I’ve felt all the way up and there’s no cuts, no swelling, I’m not sure what I’m looking for. I’ve called all the vets in the area and they won’t treat him. There’s a farm animal rescue that I’m waiting on an answer from, hopefully they’ll know what to do but the woman who referred me...
I have a 13 week male Khaki Campbell that got in a fight with his brother and now can’t stand on one of his legs. He started out limping, then he stopped and walked regularly for a couple of days, and then one morning I went outside and he was flopping from place to place, using his wing like a...
I have eleven ducks in a tractor that I move around my yard because we have a high population of predators. We’ve only just discovered migrating bears and mountain lions, which is super fun since we live in Middle Tennessee. We dont use pesticides, i give them about four cups of scratch a day in...
That happened with one Ancona out of three. She stayed tiny, the other ones shot up, I got six more khaki Campbells that were about three weeks younger, They all outgrew my small Ancona. I got a Cayuga, then a welsh harlequin, two or three weeks after that. They’re all bigger than my Ancona now...
My advice is get her to a vet. I just lost one of mine this morning to pneumonia, they gave him oxygen all night and the vet said that made him feel a lot better. I took him too late to save him but I’m glad he had the extra oxygen
Thank you! I came home from work and found my other black Ancona wedged in the waterer. I grabbed her and dried her off and stuck her in my shirt to get warm but she’s really weak. She’s a little wheezy and her head is swaying but she’s nibbling at my necklace and making lots of noise so...
He passed away at the vet’s office this morning. They had him on oxygen and antibiotics all night but he didn’t make it. We’ve had a pretty sad morning but the other nine are doing great so we’re ruling out an infectious disease thank goodness. I tried not to get attached to my ducklings until...
